Katwon Dashawn Gibson, 20 of Rome, was jailed this week after police said he was found operating a vehicle on East 8th without valid registration.
A search of the vehicle turned up a Taurus .9mm handgun that had been reported stolen.
Gibson is charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property, driving without license, driving without insurance and knowing driving a vehicle on a revoked registration.
