Two juveniles were shot outside a home at 128 Doyle Road in Rome around 10:30 Sunday morning.
Reports stated that a 13 year-old male was playing with a .40 caliber handgun when it went off, striking him in the side of the stomach. The bullet traveled through and struck an 8 year-old in the hand.
Both children were transported to a local hospital. The 8 year-old is said to he stable. The 13 year-old is listed in serious condition.
The children were airlifted to an Atlanta hospital for treatment.
