Brandon Ryan Patterson, 24 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he hit his wife in the head with a cellphone while driving down the road.
Reports added that the victim stopped the car in the roadway and Brandon proceeded to exit and leave the scene.
The victim showed swelling and bruising on her head from the attack.
The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Burnett Ferry Road.
Patterson is charged with battery.
