Jody Dale Wade, 45 of Cave Spring, was arrested this week after police said he attempted to run over some at a location on Fosters Mill Road.
Reports stated that Wade was intoxicated while driving the vehicle.
Police added that when they arrived on scene he refused to comply with commands and then proceeded to attempt to break the locks on the patrol vehicle in order to escape.
Wade is charged with aggravated assault, cruelty to children, criminal attempt to commit a felony, interference with government property, criminal damage to government property, obstruction, DUI and reckless driving.
