On Tuesday evening the Lady Lions of Unity Christian School traveled to Opelika AL for the GICAA soccer semi-final match up against the Trinity Eagles.

The Eagles were coming off and undefeated season and had a bye in the quarter finals as the number one seed. Unity made it to the semi final match up via a 3-0 win over Westminster Christian Academy last week.  In what appeared to be a defensive game, Freshman Maggie Eddins took a shot at the corner of the goal to score the only goal of the first half. The lions carried the lead deep into the second half. The Eagles took numerous shots on the Unity goal, but nothing was getting by Senior Keeper Chnacely Book. With 15 minutes remaining Senior, Tori Eddins launched a bomb that streaked past the Keeper’s out stretched hands for another goal. The Lady Lions held the lead and advance to the State Championship. The State Championship will be held Saturday May 5th at 1pm at the MOBA Soccer Academy in Peachtree City.

The Lions will face off against Peachtree Academy. If the Lady Lions are victorious on Saturday it will be their third consecutive Soccer State Championship.
