Sheldrick Demond Williams, 32 of Rome, was jailed this week after a police officer said his hand was injured while taking the suspect into custody.
Reports stated that the officer suffered a cut to his right hand after Williams refused to be placed in handcuffs.
The incident occurred at a location on Woodbine Avenue.
Williams is charged with felony obstruction of an officer.
