Preston Wayne Dougherty, 58 of Kingston, was arrested this week after police said he was captured after being spotted attempting to break into and burglarize a home on Morrison Campground Road.
Reports stated that the home owner spotted the suspect and dialed for emergency help.
They added that he was captured after a short foot chase.
Dougherty is charged with first degree burglary, criminal trespass and obstruction of law enforcement.
