Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor confirmed Wednesday that the man, Jason Minter, died from injuries he sustained in a single vehicle accident last Friday.
Police said that Minter wrecked his race car in a curve on Short Horn Road around 3:30 pm last Friday.
Minter sustained severe head injuries in the crash when he was partially ejected from the car. Police said the car hit a culvert and flipped when he lost control near the Doyle Road intersection. He was not wearing a seat belt.
