A Rome City Schools special needs school bus driver and a monitor, Joseph Michael Nicholson, 31 of Rome, and 55 year-old Sophia Spivey Buffington, were arrested this week after an altercation while driving.

Reports said that Nicholson, the driver, raised his voice while making threatening comments toward the victim.

Police went on to say that Nichilson then made physical contact with the victim when he slapped the seat by the victims head before grabbing his arm.

Reports continued to read that Buffington proceeded to hit the victim’s arm and leg.

Both Nicholson and Barnes are also charged with simple battery.

Both are charged with battery and cruelty to children.
