Francisco Manuel Mendez, 29 of Rome, was arrested this week after police said he refused to comply with officers and barricaded himself in a basement.
Reports added that Mendez proceeded to pour gasoline on himself for threatening suicide.
The incident occurred at a home on Brookwood Drive.
Mendez is charged with terroristic threats and acts, reckless conduct, obstruction of police and probation violation.
