William Troy Anderson Jr, 42 of Calhoun, was arrested at a home in Rome this week after police said he grabbed a woman in the face, resulting in her suffering marks to her lip.
Reports added that he then told the victim that he would kill her.
While being taken into custody police said they found him to be in possession of a clear plastic bag containing suspected methamphetamine.
Anderson is charged with battery and possession of marijuana.
