Drake Alexander Holcombe, 23 of Buchannan, was arrested Tuesday after he wrecked his Jeep on US 27 near Darlington Drive.

Reports said that Holcombe was driving at a high rate of speed and under the influence while heading south near the Darlington Exit.

According reports, Holcombe’s Jeep Cherokee left the inside shoulder of the road when he over corrected to the right on the outside lane and struck a Ford F-150 in the rear.

The impact caused the pickup to overturn and slide back into the railing of the bridge  that crosses Cedartown Highway.

The truck slid until it came back onto its wheels, coming to rest in the center median.

The Jeep also hit the barrier, which it slid against until stopping with the driver’s side pinned against a guardrail. Rome-Floyd County firefighters had to use a winch on the side of a squad truck to pull the Jeep away from the guardrail. They then had to saw off the driver’s side door to pull Holcombe out.

When firefighters were able to get Holcombe out, he told the firefighter twice to perform oral sex on him. Firefighters and EMS personnel smelled alcohol on his breath while getting him out.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Holcombe is charged with solicitation of sodomy, too fast for conditions, reckless drivign, DUI and failure to maintain lane.
