Rome police arrested a 17-year old, Cequan H. McAllister, and charged him with the armed robbery of a business on Maple Avenue last Saturday.

Reports stated that McAllister entered the store and pointed a handgun at the victim with the intent to rob her.

McAllister then allegedly abandoned the gun at the corner of East 19th Street and Crane Street.

McAllister is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, possession of a pistol or revolver by a person under the age of 18, and reckless conduct.

A second person, Andre Lorenzo Dupree, 21 of Rome, was also arrested and charged with being a party to the crime of armed robbery. Dupree pictured below.
