Officials said that a body was discovered near road road tracks off Cedar Avenue.
Floyd County Coroner Gene Proctor said that the 24 year-old black male was pronounced dead at 12:45 pm with a self inflicted gunshot wound.
Proctor said that the name will not be released because of the nature of the death.
