Kyle Adam Shanks, 26 of Rome, was arrested Thursday after being accused of hitting a 25 year-old woman in the head.
Reports said that Shanks hit the woman in the face with a closed fist, leaving visible bruising to her face around her right eye and lower left jaw.
The alleged incident occurred at a home on Pinecrest Drive.
Shanks is charged with battery.
