Two people were jailed on numerous drug charges in Cave Spring after a search warrant was executed at a Marathon Gas Station near the state line.

Reports stated that the search warrant was conducted following an investigation involving numerous cooperating witnesses reporting that Laila Salim Budhwani, 44 of Rome, and Salim Sherali Budhwani, 53 of Taylorsville, sold them SPICE or synthetic marijuana on numerous occasions.

Authorities stated that the drug was sold to witnesses on May 5, 2016; twice on may 19, 2016; May 26, 2016; May 31, 2016; July 7, 2016 and twice on July 27, 2016.

The search warrant, which was executed at the store located at 2406 Gadsden Highway in Cave Spring, turned up 113 packages and over 730 grams of syntactic marijuana.

Salim Budhwani is charged with trafficking illegal drugs, the sale of a schedule I or controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute and three counts of possession of a schedule I controlled substance.

Laila Budhwani is charged with seven counts of the sale of a schedule I controlled substance, seven counts of possession of a schedule I controlled substance, and seven counts of possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute.
