Ekeya Sonsarae Madden, 32 of Rome, was jailed over the weekend following an altercation with a child.
Reports said that Madden hit a victim in the head, which resulted in excessive physical pain.
Madden is charged with battery and first degree cruelty to children.
A 32-year-old Rome woman was arrested Saturday for cruelty to children.
