An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing additional charges police discovered that he was he the suspect in a heroin deal to numerous cooperating witnesses last November.
Reports said that Alfred Duncan Mayers Jr, 50 of Rome, sold heroin to a witness at an apartment on Dodd Blvd November 16, 2016.
Then again on November 18, Mayers sold heroin and a handgun to a witness at an apartment on Ashland Park.
Mayers is charged with two counts of selling heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force charged close to a dozen people Thursday with numerous drug charges after months of investigating. Reports stated that the task force used a confidential witness, as well as an undercover informant to buy hydrocodone, methamphetamine, heroin and cocaine over the past few months.
Alfred Duncan Mayers Jr, 50 of Rome, was arrested at his home on Dodd Blvd after he was accused of selling a quantity of heroin to a cooperating witness. Reports said that the incident occurred on July 8, 2016 on Kingston Avenue. Later that month, on July 28th he allegedly sold heroin to a witness on Dodd Bvd. On August 19th he is accused of selling hydrocdooen to a witness on Dodd Blvd. Then again on September 28, 2016 he sold heroin to a cooperating witness.
Mayers is charged with possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, four felony counts of possession of a Schedule I or II drug with the intent to distribute; four felony counts of possession of a Schedule I or II drug; three felony counts of sale of a Schedule I or II drug; and one felony count of possession of a Schedule I drug.
Terance Tremaye King, of Rome, was arrested for selling cocaine to a cooperating witness at a motel room at 1201 Martha Berry Blvd. Reports stated that the sale occurred on July 6th of this year. King is charged with possession of methamphetamine charge, possession of cocaine; possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute; and sale of cocaine
Dennis Bohannon, of Rockmart, is accused of possessing and selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant at a home on Old Rockmart Road in Silver Creek back on September 1st of this year. He then allegedly sold meth to a confidential informant on September 14th at the East Rome Wal-Mart. He is charged with two counts of possession of meth with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of meth and two counts for the sale of meth.
Keri Marie Wilkie, 36 of Lindale is accused of selling methamphetamine to a cooperating witness back on November 1st at a home on Vans Valley Road. She then sold the drug on November 16th at a home on Teat Street. She is charged with two counts of possession of meth with intent to distribute, two counts of sale of meth and one count of possession of meth.
Dorthy Annette Mullins, 52 of Rome, was arrested Thursday for conspiring to sell meth and was acting as a participant in selling it for Wilkie to cooperating information back on November 1st at a home on Vanns Valley Road. She is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
Justin O’Neal Floyd, 24 of Rome, is charged with possessing 9.56 grams of synthetic marijuana back on August 24 at the intersection of Crane Street and East 12th Street. He was charged with felonies possession or purchase of a Schedule I drug; possession or purchase of a synthetic cannabinoid, possession or sale of marijuana and probation violation.
Clifford Lavory Stocks, 56, of Rome, was arrested on Wednesday near Fifth Avenue for a parole violation. On Thursday, he was charged with the selling of meth to a cooperating witness on Garden Lakes Parkway back on April 8th and 15th. He is now charged with two counts of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, two counts of sale of meth, and two counts of possession of meth with intent to distribute.
Nicholus Lashon Byars, 32 of Rome, was arrested back on September 16th for possession of cocaine. On Thursday, officers added additional charges. Reports stated that Byars sold meth to a cooperating witness April 15 at a location on Maple Avenue, then on July 7 at Riverside Drive, then July 22 on East 15th Street and Sept. 15 on East 15th Street. Byars is now charged with four felony counts of sale of methamphetamine, four felony counts of possession of meth with the intent to distribute and four felonies for possession of methamphetamine.
