One of two suspects accused of shooting a Summerville man last week at the Big H Food Store on East 12 Street. Reports said that Monyea Mico Smith, 29 of Rome, turned himself in on Monday. He is charged with aggravated assault and battery.

A second suspect, Christopher Kenyun Atwater, who is the alleged shooter, is still on the run.  He is charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Atwater is described as a black make, 5 feet 10 inches and around 160 pounds.

Reports said that Smith provoked the fight between Atwater and the victim along with “making contact of an insulting or provoking nature”

Rome Police issued arrest warrants for two men wanted in a shooting at the Big H convenience store last week. Police is continuing to search for Christopher Kenyon Atwatee,32, and 29 year-old Monyea Mico Smith. 

Atwater is charges with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Smith is charged with aggravated assault.

Rome police said that a man was shot in the hip at the Big H convenience store on East 12th Stret on Thursday evening.

Reports said that the man, identified as 27 year-old Terrance Autwaun Dozier, of Summerville, was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in stable condition just before 7 p.m.

No arrest has been made, but police are continuing to investigate.
