Thomas Bradley Hansard, 43 of Rome, was arrested this week after he allegedly assaulted a 34 year-old woman at a home on Mathis Road.
Reports stated that Hansard kicked in a bathroom door, causing the frame to shatter, then trapping the woman and a 17 month-old child in the bathtub.
Reports went on to say that Hansard proceeded to place his hands around her throat and chocked her. The victim also told police that Hansard threatened to kill her.
Police reported that the victim had visible marks on her throat as well as abrasions across her back from shoulder to shoulder.
Reports added that Hansard also would not allow the victim to leave the residence.
Hansard is charged with aggravated assault, criminal trespass, battery, false imprisonment and cruelty to children.
