A high speed chase though Polk County ended with the arrest of Zachary Ryan Udell, 22 of Kingston, Monday. Reports stated that Udell was spotted driving on the wrong side the road on Highway 100 near Lime Branch Baptist Church.
Police stated that when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop he fled in his Jeep Wrangler. Reports added that officers tried to perform a pit maneuver in an attempt to get him to stop on Highway 27 bear East Point Road.
Finally, thanks to assistance from Cedartown Police, stop strips were deployed and Udell’s tires were deflated at Lew Road near the Polk County line.
He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, driving under the influence, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and a hit and run charge.
