An 81 year-old Cedartown woman was killed in a wreck at the intersection of Evergreen Lane and Cave Spring Road Wednesday. Reports stated that Mildred Chapman, of Cedartown, was a passenger in a one vehicle accident, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, Edna Wood . was also injured and taken to Floyd Medical Center for treatment.
Reports stated that the vehicle crashed into a large oak tree after running a stop sign. Officials have not said what caused the crash.
The driver’s condition was listed as serious of last report.
No charges are expected.
