Luis Chanchavac Velasquez, 39 of Rome, found himself behind bars this week after police said he signed a name that was not his to several fingerprint cards and lied about his identity to police.

Reports stated that as Velasquez was pulled over for driving on an expired tag. They added that he then gave police a false name, stating that he was “Cruz Perez”.  It was then discovered that he also did not have a driver’s license.

Velasquez is charged with giving a false name to law enforcement, false statements and writings, driving without license and driving on a expired tag.
