Derrion Lashuan Chambers, 31 of Rome, was arrested at a home on Oreburg Road over the weekend after allegedly shooting a gun within 50 yards of a roadway while intoxicated.
Reports added that when officers arrived and began to question Chambers he lied about his identity. They added that he later admitted his true identity and that he was a convicted felon.
A search of Chambers led police to find marijuana and a large bag of suspected methamphetamine on him.
Chambers is charged with discharging a gun near a street, discharging a gun under the influence of alcohol, giving a false name to police, reckless conduct, possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of meth and probation violation.
