Rome Woman Runs Away with Police Handcuffs, Arrested Days Later

Shakira Maquica Salaam, 21 of Rome, was charged with felony escape this week after she attempted to run from police during her arrest.

Reports stated that Salaam was being arrested on October 21^st for damaging property and trespassing at a home on Butler Street when she ran away with the officers handcuffs.

She was found and arrested Wednesday at a home on Pennington Avenue.

Salaam is charged with felony escape, interference with government property, theft by taking, criminal trespass, obstruction of law enforcement and probation violation.
