An unidentified 15 year-old student at Model High School has been charged in an accident that resulted in the death of 16 year-old Kobe Thomas.
The teen is charged with vehicular homicide, reckless driving and violation of his provisional license.

According to reports, the Model High School student killed over the weekend appeared to be playing a game where he was attempting to jump over a movie car. Kobe Thomas was struck by a car driven by a 15 year-old driver near Burt Road Friday. He succumbed to injuries early Sunday.
Floyd County police Sgt. Matt Meyers said that interviews with witnesses are ongoing as well as talks with the Floyd County District Attorney’s office to determine if any charges will be brought forth.
Four teens at the scene stated that Kobe stepped in front of the car and there was not any room to avoid the collision.

A Model High School junior, Kobe Thomas, 16, died on Sunday after being hit by a car over the weekend.
Reports stated that Thomas was hit by a car on Bert Road near Model High School late Friday night. Police stated that juvenile was driving the car that struck Thomas, but refused to elaborate any further.
Investigators are expected to meet with the district attorney’s office to determine if charges are possible.
Chief Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor said Thomas was pronounced dead 4:04 a.m. Sunday as a result of traumatic brain injury.
Floyd County Schools Superintendent John Jackson said that counselors will be at both Model and Pepperell, where he previously attended, this week for any students who need to speak to someone.
