Kevin Darnez Wofford, 28 of Rome, was arrested on numerous charges following a traffic stop Wednesday at the corner of Hwy 140 at GA 27.
Reports sated that an officer clocked Wofford driving at a high rate of speed when she initiated a traffic stop. The officer stated that Wofford did not show a driver’s license and gave a false name and date of birth.
It was then discovered that Wofford was wanted for stealing beer tenderloins and steak from Kroger on on July 29th of this year. The items totaled $350. He is also accused of stealing $68.66 worth of merchandise from the West Rome Wal-mart on the same day.
Wofford is charged with two counts of theft by shoplifting, speeding, driving on suspended license, giving a false name to police and a probation violation.
