Rome police arrested two men over the weekend on numerous charges after they were allegedly accused of driving a stolen car out of Polk County. Tracey Glenn Brannon, 54, of Lindale, and Earl Dewayne Mathis, 47 of Silver Creek, were pulled over by at the intersection of Turner McCall Blvd and Riverbend Drive for a routine traffic stop.
Reports stated that the stop occurred because of a tail light violation. The driver of the car, Brannon, was also found to be pulling a trailer that license plate was not registered to the vehicle, as well as driving it on a suspended license.
Mathis, who was the passenger, was found to have marijuana under his seat.
Both were charged with felony theft by receiving stolen property.
Brannon is additionally charged with driving while on a suspended license, driving without insurance, acquiring license plate for purpose of concealing identification of motor vehicle, driving on an expired tag, cracked or busted windshield, and a taillight requirement violation.
Mathis is also charged with misdemeanor possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
