Joseph Paul Green, 52 of Silver Creek, was arrested over the weekend on numerous charges, including cruelty to children, after police found drugs in his possession.

Reports said that officers were dispatched to at a home on Old Rockmart Road after Green allegedly threw a frozen bottle at a victim, striking his arm and leaving a mark.

Once at the home police searched Green and located two Hydrocodone pills, a bag of methamphetamine and bag of marijuana.

After being placed in the police car, officers said that Green began to verbally assault the victim and their son.

Green is charged with simple battery (FV), possession of a schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, disorderly conduct and cruelty to children.
