Adam Macelhannon Grant, 31 of Rome, turned himself in to the Floyd County Jail over the weekend after warrants were taken for his arrest stating that he assaulted a woman in a wheelchair.
Reports said that Grant choked out the female victim until she was unable to breath. They added that he also drug her across the living room, where she later fell out of her wheelchair and hit her head on the floor.
Reports added that the victim showed red marks around her throat and wounds to her leg.
The alleged incident occurred in front of a two year-old child.
Grant is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and cruelty to children.
