Kendra Nicole Whatley, 27 of Rome, was arrested this week after a traffic stop turned up marijuana.

Reports said that officers pulled Whatley over on Harvey Street for driving with an improper tag.  While talking to Whatley the officer said he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

After removing Whatley’s two children, a 6 year-old and 5 month-old, and an adult passenger identified as Clyde Edward Moore III, 29 of Rome, from the SUV, officers located a bag under the passenger’s seat that allegedly contained a black scale and a container with suspected marijuana.

When police began to handcuff the passenger, Whatley, while holding her child, told police that the items belonged to her.

Reports added that Whatley then told police that she had purchased the drugs from a subject named “Troy” last weekend.  She also told them that she had been selling it to coworkers for extra money.

Both Whatley and Moore were charged with two counts of purchase, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana.
