Thomas Francisco Sarmiento-Mendoza, 33 of Calhoun, was transported from Gordon County to Floyd County this week to face charges stemming from an incident that occurred last February.  Reports said that Sarmiento-Mendoza allegedly stole a Nissan Frontier truck valued at more than $18,000 from a Rome car dealership.

Reports added that Mendoza refused to return the truck and would not sign papers to finalize the sale.

He is charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle.
