A traffic stop near Branham and Pennington Avenues in Rome resulted in two people being arrested on drug charges.  Reports said that police initiated the stop after they spotted a SUV driving without insurance.  Officers discovered that the driver, Victoria  Ann Tucker, 36 of Ellijay, had an active warrant for her arrest from Walker County.

While questioning Tucker, reports said that she told police that Robert Shane Cochran, 33 of Trion, was in possession of a gun in the vehicle.  She then gave officers permission to search the car.

During the search officers located a backpack that contained meth residue, and numerous drug related objects.  The officer did not find a weapon in the search.

Parks is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug related objects, driving on an expired tag and driving without insurance.

Cochran is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug related objects.
