A Gordon County deputy sheriff was checking the GDOT Rest Area on Interstate 75 (Northbound) near the Gordon/Bartow line when he observed a suspicious automobile parked in a remote corner of the parking lot. When the deputy approached this car, he observed a nude male alone in the back seat rapidly putting on underwear.
Upon detaining and questioning this individual, deputies determined that he was a fugitive from Memphis, Tennessee. The man, identified as one Broaderick Turner, age 28, of a Memphis, Tennessee address was wanted by Tennessee authorities for the offenses of Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping, and Aggravated Rape.
Investigating officers believe that given the nature of the charges in Tennessee and Turner’s state of undress at the time of his arrest, they quite possibly prevented a very serious crime from being committed here.
