Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 26 year-old Brittney Carlile, of Rome, this week after report said she shook her 7 month-old baby back on March 4 resulting in ‘excessive pain and internal head injuries’.
Warrants stated that she is charged with first degree cruelty to children (causing physical and/or mental pain), as well as second degree cruelty to children (criminal negligence, causing excessive physical and/or mental pain).
The second degree comes as a result of her not immediately seeking medical attention after allegedly injuring the child.
