Shimel Antoine Bell, 21 of Rome, was sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty on number child molestation charges.  Bell was arrested in 2014 for touching a child under the age of 16 in an appropriate manner at a home on Branham Avenue.

He was also given 10 years of probation, a no-contact stipulation and must register as a sex offender.

Bell opted for a non-jury trial before Superior Court Judge Tami Colston.

Colston found him guilty of the two molestation counts, one for improper touching and the other for sodomy.

Reports said that the crime was discovered after the victim wrote a letter to her mother explaining what happened.

Bell is also facing similar charges in Clayton County.
