Mary Kathleen Russell, 47 of Rome, was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday after she allegedly used her sister’s name to get out of a ticket for an expired tag. Reports said that after police pulled Russell over on Redmond Circle last September she signed her sister’s name to the ticket in order to not get arrested on a failure to appear warrant.
Russell was arrested in Clayton County and returned to Rome on Monday.
She is charged with making false statement or writings, giving a false name, address or birth date to law enforcement, driving without a license and driving on an expired tag. She was being held in jail without bond.
