A man accused of crashing his car into a home last week was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Monday. According to Georgia State Patrol officials, Adam Elrod, 36 of Cave Spring, was taken to a local hospital after crashing his vehicle into a home on Alabama Highway. Reports said that Elrod was traveling east when he drove off the road, went through a yard and a flower bed before striking the front porch of the home. Reports said that when officers were attempted to remove Elrod from the car to check for injuries he became ‘extremely violet’ and reinforcement had to be dispatched to the scene.
Elrod is charged with three counts of felony obstruction of justice, interference with emergency responders, hindrance of firefighters, failure to maintain lane, failure to apply for a new license withing 60 days of an address change and driving under the influence of alchol.
