Austin Taylor Smith, 19 of Rome, was arrested over the weekend on robbery and and terroristic threat charges. Reports said Smith stole an elderly woman’s cell phone before going into the Dollar General store on Turner McCall Boulevard and threatening a employee. Reports added that Smith entered the store, in which he was banned, and was told to leave. The employee said that it was then Smith threatened them.
After leaving the store police found and arrested Smith at the Cottis Inn hotel.
Smith is charged with robbery and making terroristic threats and acts, all felonies, along with misdemeanor criminal trespass.
