Rome Police arrested Dunigan Prince Rogers, 38 of Rome, on Sunday after a shootout with authorities.  Reports said that an officer was conducting a traffic stop near Hull Avenue and East 18th Street when the suspect jumped out of the vehicle and ran.  Reports said that Rogers then fired shots at the officers. Officials said that the officer returned fire, but neither was struck.  Following a foot chase the suspect was captured.

A K-9 officer was called to the area and the gun that allegedly belonged to the suspect was recovered.

Rogers is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, felony obstruction, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug related objects, driving on a suspended or revoked license and failure to obey traffic control devices.
