A 20,000 donation has been given to the Vann Cherokee Cabin in Cave Spring by Romans Wes Walraven and Brian Moore. Walraven finished up his donation while attending an auction in Cave Spring last weekend. According to CSHS President Mike Burton another benefactor had also promised to match any donation up to $6,000.

Walraven and Moore recently completed renovations to the Columns on East Fourth Avenue in Rome. That house is currently listed on the market for $1.65 million. Tours of the building have raised close to $10,000 for restoration of the Fairview/Brown School in Cave Spring.

Walraven credited his love for history as reason for the donation.

Burton said that his hopes are to reconstruct the Vann Cherokee Cabin to the way it would have looked in 1810.
