I don’t know what feeling is worse, that your team is still undefeated and you are almost certain that a loss is coming, yet you want to be optimistic, or your team loses early, yet you know you have a chance to run the table.

I am struggling with my Georgia Bulldogs this season. I have always thought we were improved, but the way the Dawgs played South Carolina scares me. Year in and year out I have seen a pretty good Georgia team fall to a team they were not supposed to. There was 2007 when Georgia went to Knoxville a far superior team and got stomped. They ended up going to the Sugar Bowl and dominating and finishing second in the county.

There was 2002 when Georgia traveled to Jacksonville 8-0 and with one of the best teams I have ever seen at Sanford Stadium. Yet with around 2 minutes left in the game Terrence Edwards dropped a potential game winning pass that sealed the deal. Georgia would win out and only have 1 loss that year. An SEC champion was left out in the cold and having to watch Ohio State and Miami play for the National Title.

I truly believe Georgia would have beaten both of those teams. Heck, in 2007, when it wasn’t cool for a team to not win their conference to play in a title game, Georgia sat by and watched LSU destroy Ohio State for the National Championship. May I add, LSU finished with as many losses as Georgia did that year.

That worries me about this season. As a Georgia fan I am just waiting for ‘that game’. This week I have a strong feeling that we can take it easy and hope that the team does not suffer any injuries. After this week, buckle up. The next two games will be against Alabama and Tennessee (on the road). Then the team host Missouri before an off week and Florida. Folks, October could be the death of me. As September comes to a close many questions have been answered. The Dawgs have the best running game in college football. The defense is head and shoulders better than anything we have seen in a decade. The quarterback can throw and can be extremely accurate. I guess the biggest worry is special teams. Keep it between the boues Marshall. Plus, let’s kick it in the endzone fellas.

If the Dawgs escape the next 3 games unscathed, my heart will for certain begin to worry. It has to be my inner Larry Munson. I guess all of those years listening to him paint my picture has made me an A+ student in the Larry Munson School of Pessimism. Could Knoxville again be our undoing? Could we travel to the banks of the Saint John River and feel that deep sickening.. AGAIN. Don’t tell me Auburn is the one to jump up and bite us.

I’m not even going to think about Tech. Shoot, the family had to live without a Christmas tree last year because of the end result. For folks that don’t know, if Tech beats Georgia then Bulldog faithful gets forbid to put up a tree that year.

Is it time? I know I sure hope so. Until next week, thanks for reading.

Oh two more things. I take pride in calling the fall of Bama, as well as the overhypness of Auburn’s Jeremey Johnson.

Last week I went a miserable 5-5, which brings my yearly total to 20 for 30. Not bad, but I need a big week to keep up!
