Federal marshals arrested a Lindale man, Pedro Correa-Santiago, 57, at Wire Tech on Industrial Boulevard on Wednesday. Reports said that Correa-Santiago was a fugitive from Florida who was on parole for a murder conviction in 1983. Reports said that Correa-Santiago had been using the alias, Jose Maldonado, while in Rome and had reportedly been working in various locations for more than a year.

Authorities with the U.S. Marshal`s Service in Atlanta said the suspect was born in Cuba.

Reports added that Correa-Santiago was convicted of murder on June 7, 1983, and served until April 8, 1997, when he was granted parole. He was then arrested in June 2000 on a motor vehicle theft charge. An extradition warrant related to that charge was issued in May 2002, leading to the January 2003 parole violation charge.

He is awaiting extradition proceedings.
