Floyd County Jail inmate Travontae Marico Williams, 24 of Rome, is facing new charges after reports said he allegedly tried to escape custody. Williams is accused of getting out of his cell and running down the hall and away from eight officers. He was eventually captured.

Williams is charged with felony obstruction of an officer, as well as a misdemeanor count of escape. He was originally arrested in January on a probation violation and aggravated assault charge.

He was originally arrested in January for simple assault, aggravated assault, battery and a probation warrant.
