Tyler Jon Bailey, 32 of Rome, was arrested after reports said he stole $57.02 worth of merchandise from the West Rome Walmart.
Police added that when they attempted to apprehend Bailey he refused to stop and fled on foot while ignoring commands to stop.
Bailey is charged with theft by shoplifting, obstruction and probation violation.
