Mr. James Marvin “Jim” Hall, age 86, of Kingston, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
Jim was born in Manhattan, NY, on August 10, 1938, son of the late Marvin Lewis Hall and the late Billie Slater Hall. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Anne Lane Hall, and by 2 siblings, Frederick Allen Hall and Sandra Hall Lester. Jim was a 1956 graduate of Lanier High School in Macon, GA, and went on to receive his bachelor degree in anthropology from the University of Georgia. He was an Eagle Scout, and first one on record in Houston County, GA, and a Mason.
Jim was a proud Veteran of the United State Army. He was a Captain during the Vietnam War and served his country proudly for over 11 years. Jim was a history buff and an avid reader. He would read and re-read his massive collection of books wanting always to increase his knowledge in any way he could. He was a no-nonsense type of guy and would tell it like it was. Jim resided with his son Mark and daughter-in-law, Tonya, who was his primary caregiver for the last 5 years.
Survivors include his 3 children, Daniel Hall, Eagle Point, OR, Mark Hall (Tonya), Kingston, GA, and Tanya Hall, Lakeland, FL; 5 grandchildren, Jared Hall, Christopher Hall, Tricia Hall, Katherine Craft and Brannon Hall; 3 great-grandchildren, Jameson Thomas Hall, Harlow Anne Hall, and Lilly Lorraine Hall.
In accordance with his wishes Mr. Hall will be cremated and no formal services will be held at this time.
