Gary Neal Shinall, age 72, of Adairsville, passed away Sunday morning, May 25, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Gary was born in Cartersville, Georgia, December 22, 1952, son of the late Robert Clayton Shinall and Effie Mae Garrett Shinall. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Danita Dutton Shinall (Dinky) and beloved daughter, Whitney Rebecca Shinall. Also, a brother, Jerry Shinall, sisters, Nancy Shinall and Linda Shinall, and a stepsister, Robin Shinall. Gary was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He held a Bachelor of Science degree from Bethel College and retired from Shaw Industries. He was a fun-loving individual who enjoyed the outdoors and deer hunting and was a diehard Tennessee Volunteers fan. He cherished spending time with his family and friends, especially when gathering with his ‘Chattanooga Gang’. Gary will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Jessica and Kevin Williams; grandchildren, Anslee and Bryson Williams; sisters, Bobbie Sue Johnston, Pat Tate, Vickie Godfrey, and Cathy Walters; fur babies, Rosie and Charlie Sam and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 2:00PM from the chapel of Barton Funeral Home with Reverends Barry Adcock and Larry Hibberts officiating. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Adairsville. Pallbearers will be Brian Garrett, Kevin Dutton, Rocky Dutton, Noah Dutton, Alan Towe, Donnie Reece, Scotty Rogers, and Greg Hight. Honorary pallbearers will be the Chattanooga Gang and Lori Howell.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00AM until 2:00PM at Barton Funeral Home, Adairsville.
