Cedartown High School teacher Laurie Brumby has been named the Chick-fil-A Leader Academy (CFALA) Southeast Regional Teacher of the Year for 2025, an honor recognizing her outstanding dedication to student leadership and community impact.

Brumby was surprised with a $10,000 award during a special presentation at Cedartown High School on Wednesday, April 30.

In recognition of Brumby’s efforts, the $10,000 award will be presented to the school to support and expand student leadership initiatives.

Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is a national high school leadership program aimed at equipping students to lead through action. Teachers selected for this honor are celebrated for their commitment to developing young leaders and fostering meaningful change in their communities.
