James Michael Wright, 39 of Rome, was arrested this week after reports said he grabbed a woman by the face and tossed her to the ground.
Reports stated that the victim suffered a visible injury to her elbow.
The incident, which occurred in front of a child, occurred at a home on Old Summerville Road.
Wright is charged with battery and 3rd degree cruelty to children.
