Ms. Sherry Ann Comes Ashley, age 72, of Siver Creek, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 09, 2025, at a local nursing home.
Ms. Ashley was born in Norfolk, VA, on June 19, 1952, daughter of the late Charles Daniel “Sarge” Comes and the late Bobbie Nell Cargle Comes. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rheba Faye Comes Smith. Ms. Ashley was a loving homemaker and made it her life’s mission to care for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was extremely intelligent and loved games that challenged the brain. She was an avid reader, a talented artist, and loved board games. Above all, Ms. Ashley loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and her son’s dog, Tucker, also held a special place in her heart. Ms. Ashley was of the Baptist faith is now rejoicing in the Lord’s presence for eternity.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Chris Ashley (Lisa), and Kevin Ashley (Lynn), both of Silver Creek; 4 grandchildren, Joseph Pearson (Berlyne), Amelia Maxwell (Ryan), Jake Ashley, and Tegan Ashley; 5 great-grandchildren, Noelle Pearson, Kasen Pearson, Adalie Pearson, Brynlee Pearson, and Colton Pearson.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with the Rev. Tony Cargle officiating. Interment will follow in Rome Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1pm until service time on Sunday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel.
Pallbearers are to assemble by 2:30pm on Sunday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, and include: Joseph Pearson, Jake Ashley, Randy Cromer, Jeff Ashley, Corey English, and Hunter Gordon.
